Anti discrimination

Belieforama (Religious Diversity – Anti Discrimination Programme and Training)

Anti discrimination consultancy in the European ParliamentBetween 2004 and 2012 I worked with transnational partners from across the EU, led by CEJI (Centre Europeen Juif d'Information) based in Brussels, developing a range of highly interactive training materials based on an anti-discrimination approach to issues of faith and belief, which has won many international awards recognising its quality.

At its core is a 5 day training programme (English, French, German and Spanish versions) which is aimed at experienced anti-discrimination trainers from all over Europe. The programme has been widely and successfully delivered across the continent together with shorter 2 day workshops for non-trainers and 3 day modules on Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.

In 2008 it received the European Commission's Gold Prize for Adult Education, recognising the groundbreaking work on religious diversity and intercultural education in Europe and also the BMW Foundation's International award for intercultural training. I have played a key role in developing the materials and delivering the training.

Towards the end of the project I constructed and piloted a successful 3 day module on Social Action (Brussels Oct 2012). Visit and to find out more.

I continue to work with Diverse Cymru and a group of others trainers in the equalities field as a group offering consultancy to public and private sector organisations, that want help in reviewing their equalities policies and practice and in the undertaking of their own Equality Impact Assessments.
