Terry has a wealth of experience setting up projects that support the establishment of social and community enterprises. Coalfields Social Enterprise Support Scheme
Working in partnership with the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, Community Enterprise Wales I set up and managed a comprehensive support and development package for social enterprises in former Coalfield areas of S Wales.
It was based on schemes we'd help set up in England (Unltd and the Adventure Capital Fund) and provided development support through a small team, grants (from £2k to £60k) and specialist technical support/consultancy, drawing on a pool of contracted consultants to new, emerging and existing social enterprises in the former S Wales Coalfields. It distributed over £1m in grants using Objective One and CRT funds
Social Enterprise Cardiff
The former WDA (and later WG) funded a samll scale experiment in taking an innovative, long term hand-holding approach to sourcing new social enterprises in Cardiff. I project managed this over a 5 year period.
I worked closely with the Wales Cooperative Centre to source funds from both ERDF and Welsh Government to construct a social enterprise support scheme for European Competitiveness areas of Walesm managed by the WCC.
